They sang, they cheered, they adored their players and they celebrated. The Old Trafford crowd was at its elements yesterday and it’s safe to say that it was one of Old Trafford’s loudest days in recent years.

Manchester United needed their fans ahead of a crucial derby game and boy did the Old Trafford faithful deliver!

Solskjaer needed the fans to be his and his teams’ 12th man and they turned up

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has bought unity back at Manchester United. He has bought the fans together and they’re standing right behind their general.

That is a positive for any manager. The Old Trafford crowd’s rendition of the Ole chant at the end was the evidence of the unity Ole has bought into the squad.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s emphasis on positive intent and unity is rubbing off on the fanbase too.

Comparisons with the good old days, where, United celebrated titles at Old Trafford, are a bit premature at this point. But, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the best chance to remotely replicate what his mentor, his manager, the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson did at Man United.

Fan unity and mainly, them, standing behind the manager and not against him, is a quite underrated thing in football. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the most important power. And the message from United fans is clear:
