Manchester United have added Martyn Pert to their coaching team as part of the rebuild of the fabric at the club. He will work alongside Kieran McKenna, Micheal Carrick and Mike Phelan in Ole’s coaching set up.
Martyn Pert has previously had stints with Watford, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Bahrain National team and most recently at Vancouver Whitecaps.
The timing of his arrival is significant as Manchester United are enduring one of their worst ever injury crisis with upto 7 first choice starters injured for the visit to Newcastle United. With an already weaker squad to choose from, United’s run of players being hit by muscular injuries has forced Solskjaer into appointing a fitness and conditioning expert.
Martyn Pert is multi lingual and even though his primary job is getting the squad to the levels of desired fitness, his knowledge of the South American market also played a crucial role in his appointment.
