“Lindelof Could Be Injured For A month” Confirms Jose Mourinho Ahead Of Young Boys Game.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Victor Lindelof will have a scan on Tuesday and will miss the crucial Champions League game against Young Boys.

Jose Mourinho and Luke Shaw held there Match Press Conference on Monday and said the following:

Here’s what Jose had to say ahead of the big week ahead:

FITNESS UPDATE ON LINDELOF:

“He will be out for quite a while. An injury – a proper injury – that will keep him out for a while. Limdelof has a muscular problem that will be scanned tomorrow (Tuesday). If we have him for the Christmas period, when we need as many as possible, it will be good.

Mourinho then added there are just THREE centrebacks available for him:

“We have Bailly and Jones. Marocs Rojo has some little injury, and Victor an injury, a proper injury.

“So Jones, Smalling and Bailly are the three we have.”

Mourinho then said he always wanted his team to start on the front foot.

“What I (Mourinho) want is a team to start strong, not to be waiting. Probably you thought Jose told them to start slow. It is exactly the opposite. I want them to start strong and go for it almost immediately.”

Mourinho then spoke about the players’ motivation for the small(ish) games.

“When you see the amazing things the players did that demand pride and spirit obviously you believe they have it, then sometimes you have matches where the profile is different and you become frustrated.”

Mourinho then criticised the Palace players and Referee for time wasting:

“Hennessey was really good at that (time wasting). When the fourth official showed the four minutes I was frustrated. When we are winning it’s always six or seven.”

Jose Mourinho then had a go at the press for reading too much into his words:

“When I sometimes try and explain things I’m criticised so I prefer not to do it.”

Mourinho says he’d rather stay at home than to be afraid of playing at Home Grounds.

“It would be a lack of respect to the stadium and the fans to say we would prefer not to play at home. I prefer always to play at home. If you feel pressure stay at home and watch on TV.”

Jose Mourinho then said Tuesday’s match was not crucial:

“I describe like, it is not a crucial match, because if we don’t win tomorrow we still don’t depend on other results. So it is not a crucial game, but I want to play from minute one like it is the last chance we have to qualify. So I want us to forget that we have one more chance, I want to play like a knockout game. The team I am going to play is going to try to have the happiness to cope with that pressure.”

Luke Shaw then started his press conference by saying he liked midweek games:

“We are confident. Always nice to have a midweek game when you haven’t done well on the weekend.”

Luke Shaw admits players must have a thick skin to play for Manchester United and Jose Mourinho:

“I describe like, it is not a crucial match, because if we don’t win tomorrow we still don’t depend on other results. So it is not a crucial game, but I want to play from minute one like it is the last chance we have to qualify. So I want us to forget that we have one more chance, I want to play like a knockout game. The team I am going to play is going to try to have the happiness to cope with that pressure.”

Luke Shaw says everything is in their hands:

“We are all very disappointed and we need to put that right tomorrow. We have lots of must win games, and we could be looking at a completely different United by the New Year.”

Luke Shaw added Manchester United players need to fight more:

“It is the biggest club in the world, and we as players need to take what is said and take it on board. We need to fight for the fans, for the club.”

Luke Shaw didn’t want to blame anyone for Club’s inconsistent form:

“I don’t know, it is really hard to point a finger and what is going on. It is frustrating to watch, but we all know as a team that we are better than that. We do train really hard in the week, and we always push each other, Some games I can’t put my finger on it, but like I said it is easy for me to come here and talk good, but we need to show it on the pitch.”

Luke Shaw there needs to be a push applied on the team:

“I need to push myself and my teammates, and get back to where we are. Yeah of course, I think everyone in the changing room is a fighter. We all need to be pushing each other, and we all want to win trophies. You can’t say we aren’t fighters, we all want to be the best team in the league.”

Shaw on his recent form:

“It was always important for me to get a run of games. For me it was more about getting games, and keeping my fitness sup. That has benefited me a lot and I feel great.”
