“It’s always a pleasure for me, an honour to wear this armband. A lot of big players for story of the club have had. it It’s something great. To win today was most important. I scored a penalty, I’m very happy and really happy we started with a win.” said Pogba The Frenchman was also dubbed a “monster” by Jose Mourinho after putting in such a high quality performance despite only returning to training on Monday.
Pogba’s comments regarding Luke Shaw also grabbed attention with the 25-year old saying “Luke is someone who works very hard in training. People criticise him and he didn’t have a lot of chances to play last season. But every time he played, he did a great job and showed something great.”
Tonight’s on-pitch performance and off-field comments by both Jose Mourinho, and Paul Pogba will go a long way to quelling speculation about a rift between the two of them, and subsequently speculation about a move away from Old Trafford for the World-Cup winning Frenchman
